TCM Traditional Chinese Medicine is practiced in modern China today. It comprises Acupuncture, Chinese herbs, Tui Na, Qi Gong and nutritional therapy. When communism took over in China this comprehensive style of acupuncture was developed as a medicine for the people, based on old traditions bringing different styles together. It focuses more on the physical side of health. Five Element This style of acupuncture was brought to the UK by westerners in the 1950's. It is an old style and has roots in the ancient classical books of Chinese Medicine. It has survived in the west but is not practiced in China today. It is a deep form of acupuncture and works mainly on our constitution. Mind, body and spirit are treated as a whole. I practice both of these styles. |
